Exhibition of Indian Handloom, Handicrafts & Carpets at Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh from 22nd – 24th December, 2016
On the initiation of Development Commissioner (Handlooms & Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, NCDPD set up a specially erected Exhibition area of Handloom, Handicrafts & Carpets “Traditional to Contemporary Style, Weaves & Fashion” at Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) during the opening of Trade Facilitation Centre & Crafts Museum at Varanasi on 22nd December, 2016.
Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India set up the Trade Facilitation Centre & Crafts Museum at Bada Lalpur, Varanasi keeping in view the vision of making the handloom and handicraft industry of Varanasi and neighbouring areas, market oriented and for generating productive employment. The Centre will promote the handlooms, handicrafts and silk products of Varanasi and to provide necessary help to weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs of Varanasi for boosting their marketing activities in domestic as well as international markets and carry forward the rich tradition of handlooms at Varanasi.
The basic objective of setting up of Exhibition of Indian Handicrafts & Handloom products at Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is to showcase the innovative design led products and manufacturing process that have been developed in India. With the showcase of these products before the national & international visitors of Varanasi, the investors shall get an opportunity to know about the richness & varieties of Indian handicrafts & handloom products and its rich heritage.
